Forty-One 'Roos Named To Summit League Fall Academic all-League Team
Forty-one UMKC student-athletes were named to The Summit League Fall Academic all-League team, it was announced today by the league office. In order to earn the accolade, a student-athlete must have a 3.00 or better grade point average in the semester in which they compete and use a year of eligibility.
UMKC Featured On Summit League Scholar-Athlete Spotlight
For the month of January, three UMKC student-athletes are featured on The Summit League Scholar-Athlete Spotlight. Each month, the league website (www.thesummitleague.org) features outstanding student-athlete performances from a selected institution as recognized by its Faculty Athletic Representative.
Perez Earns NSCAA Second Team all-Midwest Region Honors
Senior Bryan Perez of the UMKC men's soccer team has been named an NSCAA/Performance Subaru Second Team all-Midwest Region selection, it was announced today by the NSCAA. By earning the all-region honor, Perez becomes the first player in UMKC men's soccer history to be a three-time all-region selection.
Men's Soccer Earns 2009 NSCAA Team Academic Award
The UMKC men's soccer team received the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 academic year. The 'Roos are one of 583 soccer teams (145 men, 338 women) to receive the honor. In order to receive the award, teams must post at least a 3.0 team grade point average during a complete academic year.
78th Minute Goal Lifts WIU Past UMKC At Summit League Championship
The UMKC men's soccer team had its season come to a close after dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 2 seed Western Illinois in the final game of The Summit League Championship at the OU Soccer Field in Rochester, Mich. The Fighting Leathernecks scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to claim the title and clinch their berth into the NCAA Tournament.
